Portuguese Tarts. Wow. In all seriousness these tarts make this place worth a visit all by themselves but before we get carried away reminiscing about the most smile inducing, taste buds exploding pastry EVER consumed by philo & dk, let’s take a look at the greatness that is West End deli.
West End deli sits on a tree lined suburban street in West Perth. Its corner position is perfect … like it’s always been there, the right thing in its right place. Infact there’s quite a bit of generational history attached to this remarkably old building – a cash and carry in the 1930’s, a general store in the 40’s, a butchers shop in the 60’s, a greek deli in the 70’s – and once inside you really sense that this has been a meeting place of sorts for a very long time indeed.
But enough about the history, lets talk about the food. Here they seem to have the formula right … start with the food & the rest will follow. West End deli serves up delicious freshly cooked and baked produce, the service is good – super friendly, super welcoming & the bright spacious interior feels like a home away from home. They are passionate about food & passionate about service. The morning we took these shots we met the owner who had brought family in for breakfast … it was honestly like they were sitting around a kitchen table that’s how relaxed and friendly this place is.
